The Keystone Chapter holds/hosts several events each year. Chapter members also volunteer at local events to help promote NAVHDA, the Keystone Chapter, and our versatile hunting dogs. Scroll down to see what we have on tap for 2025!
The Invitational Clinic is an educational tool developed by NAVHDA to help dog owners and handlers understand both the procedural and technical aspects of the Invitational test. The clinic will cover a variety of topics over two days. Using an informal classroom setting, the Invitational test mechanics and the scoring system will be reviewed. After that, participants will also take to the field and water to judge and score dogs being run in a mock test setting. Clinic leaders also include helpful tips and tricks on handling dogs in the Invitational test and provide helpful training advice. Novice handlers will learn how NAVHDA evaluates dogs running in the Invitational and thus will be better prepared to handle their dogs in the test. Experienced handlers will gain a deeper, more technical knowledge of how the team of dog and handler are judged. Learn More About the Invitational AIMS & Rules Clinic

Bird Orders and Biosecurity:
No one is permitted to bring birds (of any kind) to the grounds. You must order birds through the registration page. These birds will be acquired from pre-approved sources.
All training equipment must be disinfected BEFORE arriving at Warriors Mark. This includes all chapter and personal equipment (boots/shoes, crates, bird bags, launchers, etc.). Any vehicles that travel to bird/duck farms need to be cleaned of any residual mud and have wheels sprayed.
Ducks must be kept down by the search water. Please bring your own crate to secure your ducks for the weekend. We will not be storing ducks in chapter crates.
Bird tent with chukar needs to be kept at the lower side of the camping area.
Additional Restrictions:
No one is permitted near the dog kennels or near Warriors Mark bird pens.
No dogs are not allowed beyond the camping area, in the lodge, near the kennels, bird pens, etc.
Please keep dogs under your control at ALL times. Dogs in camping area should be leashed. Please be advised that there are horses within fenced areas - keep dogs away from horses and outside of all fenced areas.
Food:
There are few restaurants in the region. Most of us share communal/potluck meals in the evenings and all who train are welcome to join us at the camping site for meals, regardless of where you are staying. All we ask is that you contribute in some way. There will be a separate sign up for meals.

Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennel, 548 Hunt Club Drive, Ginter, PA (8 miles south of Houtzdale). The 2,700 acre preserve is owned and operated by Bernadette and Eric Gilliland. It has enormous fields, a great duck search pond built by beavers, and beautiful vistas. The preserve also has a pistol range, 5-stand, and a sporting clay course. This is an amazing location to train and is every dog’s dream! All who have attended in past years have found this to be a wonderful and productive training experience and offers a unique opportunity to bond with our dogs and each other.
Youth Field Day at Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers Association in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The goal of this event is to introduce outdoor activities, including the demonstration of hunting dogs and what they can do, to today's youth. Each year, members of the Keystone Chapter head over and show off their versatile pointing dogs to children of all ages! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Todd Neumyer.
