Keystone NAVHDA is a chapter of NAVHDA International. Our members consist of women and men of all ages, who have one goal in common: to train their own versatile pointing dogs to the highest level: the NAVHDA standard.
The Keystone Chapter of NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to foster, improve, promote and protect the versatile hunting dog in North America. We train roughly every other weekend, March through August (sometimes September). We utilize multiple PA state game lands, clubs, and farms throughout South Central Pennsylvania to help our dogs learn to perform well in all situations and environments. A true versatile pointing dog must be adept in field and water, effectively track and recover wounded game, and retrieve to hand. The chapter also holds at least two NAVHDA tests per year.
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to foster, promote, and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America; to conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs.
