NOTE: the use of pheasants and quail are not permitted at the Newville and York Springs State Game Lands. Chukars and pigeons only.

From 78 West to 81 South: From 81 take exit 77 go Rt.39 East cross over Rt.22, look for Church on left. Turn left on Devonshire Heights Rd. go 1.4 mi. Look for pond on right and white house on left. Turn left at next driveway. Cross the old Bridge follow past house to fields next to Pheasant Pens.

From Turnpike Exit Rt.72 (Lebanon): Left toward Lebanon on 72. Go west on 422 (Left). Follow to 743 N. go right for 1.4mi. to Hershey Park drive turn left to 39West turn right go 3mi. Look for church turn right at Devonshire Heights Rd. (Follow Above1.4mi....)

Route 74 North to Mt. Top Road on the left. (Look for the road sign on the left, because this road is marked “Spring Valley Road” on the right.) Turn left and travel on Mt. Top Road to a sign at Route 194. Turn right and follow Route 194 North toward

Franklintown, 1.9 miles to Franklintown Road on the left. Look for the NAVHDA signs. Turn left on this road into the State Game Lands, 1 mile to a parking area on the right.

Route 74 South to 194. Go straight on 195 to Franklintown. Look for the NAVHDA signs. Turn right on this road into the State Game Lands, 1 mile to a parking area on the right.

Directions to Newville Game lands (SGL # 169)

From the Harrisburg Area:

Take I-81 South to Exit 37 (Route 233 Newville Exit).

At the bottom of the Ramp Turn Right onto Route 233.

Go straight at the Route 11 Intersection traffic light. Stay on Route 233.

After a few miles, you will come to a traffic light in Newville. Turn left onto Route 641.

Stay on Route 641 for a few miles and turn right onto Oakville Road (at the bottom of a hill).

Follow Oakville Road along the creek. You will come to Mountain Road. Turn Right onto Mountain Road (over a concrete hump back bridge).

The parking area is ½ mile on the right.

(Note: Due to the bridge replacement in the game lands, we will all met at this parking lot first and then spread out from there.)

From the PA Turnpike:

Take the Blue Mountain Exit. After the toll booths turn left. Continue on that road, making no turns, until you come to a stop sign in the town of Newburg.

At the stop sign, turn left on Route 641. Stay on Route 641 until you come to Oakville Road. Turn left onto Oakville Road and follow the directions above.

Additional Routes:

Route 233 from Perry County, Route 11 and Route 641(Trindle Road) from Mechanicsburg will all meet in Newville.
